Lying Lower Back Stretch

Proper Technique: 
  1. Lie with the back on the floor
  2. Bring both knees to the chest and grab the back of the hamstrings
  3. Pull the knees toward your chest and shoulders
  4. You can allow the hips to come off the floor

  • Erector Spinae (Lower Back)

Improper Technique: 

Bringing the knees to the side of the head or to a range of motion that could exacerbate a previous injury.

Positions: 
Lie with the back on the floor; bring both knees to the belly button
Pull the knees toward your chest and shoulders.
Common Errors: 

Pulling at the lower leg with the legs jackknifed together which limits the stretch of the lower back.
